AFS provides supportive services that connect individuals and families to programs that provide guidance, resources, and essential support. From mentorship and education to food, clothing, housing, and transportation, these services open doors to greater stability, independence, and well-being.

Food, Clothing, & Transportation

The Amelia DiGirolamo Center of Hope

Provides hot meals, pantry support, and seasonal aid to Portage County families and more with compassion and care.

Emerald Transportation

Provides wheelchair and ambulatory transportation services for people in Portage and neighboring counties.

Kent Social Services

Provides free hot meals, groceries, and support to low-income Kent residents.

Mobile Meals

Provides nutritious home-delivered and congregate meals, wellness checks, and support for seniors and individuals in Portage, Summit, Cuyahoga counties.

The Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center

Offers free clothing, household items, and furniture to those in need while reducing waste.

Community Services

Chagrin Falls Park Community Center

Serving children, families, and seniors with tutoring, food pantry, and supportive services in Geauga County.

King Kennedy Community Center

Provides youth programs, senior support, food assistance, tutoring, and community services in Ravenna.

Skeels-Mathews Community Center

Provides youth, senior, and family programs in Ravenna, offering education, meals, activities, and community support.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania

Creates one-to-one mentoring relationships that empower youth and build lasting impact.

Ohio Early Intervention

Provides free evaluations and support for infants and toddlers with developmental delays, helping families create personalized plans.

Unified Resources Recreation

Enriches lives by providing social, recreational, and supportive programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities.

Offers affordable housing, amenities, and community programs for adults 55+ to live independently.

Senior Citizens Opportunity for Personal Endeavor (SCOPE)

Enriches the lives of Trumbull County seniors with recreation, wellness, meals, supportive services through six welcoming senior centers.

Portage County Senior Center

Offers social activities, wellness programs, and daily meals for seniors 50+ in a welcoming, supportive space.

Senior Support Action Group

Provides food, transportation, and companionship to homebound seniors across Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana & Jefferson Counties.

Volunteer Programs

Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)

Connects seniors 55+ with children in need, providing tutoring, mentoring, and support that benefits both generations.

Senior Companion Program (SCP)

Volunteers 55+ help older adults stay independent while gaining purpose, support, and connection.

Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP)

Connects adults 55+ with volunteer opportunities across Ohio. Use your time and talents to meet community needs and make a lasting impact.
