AmeriCorps empowers people of all ages to serve their communities through volunteerism and civic engagement. By addressing critical needs such as education, health, independence, and community support, AmeriCorps connects individuals with opportunities to create lasting impact.

Through programs like the Foster Grandparent Program, Senior Companion Program, and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, older adults can share their skills and compassion to improve lives while enriching their own.

AmeriCorps VISTA, Volunteers in Service to America, is a national service program that works to eliminate poverty. Members commit to one year of service at a non-profit or government agency to support community efforts to overcome poverty and develop initiatives that enable people to become self-sufficient and secure. Members work in conjunction with the Corporation for National and Community Service and Axess Family Services. Our mission is to lift people and communities out of poverty.

AxessPointe believes in healthcare for everyone. From the doctors and dentists to the nurses and receptionists, we share a common vision of quality, community-based primary care available to all. Our services include medical, dental, optometry, a reduced-rate pharmacy, and behavioral healthcare. Whatever your situation, we want you to know that you’re welcome here.

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, one-to-one mentoring relationships. As the nation’s largest donor – and volunteer – supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

The Amelia DiGirolamo Center of Hope provides hot meals five days a week, Monday through Friday, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Curbside lunches are also available every first, second, and third Sunday of the month. We are dedicated to enhancing the nutrition of low-income families while striving to go the extra mile by serving our guests with love, compassion, and respect by providing the hope and encouragement they need.

The Chagrin Falls Park Community Center is often thought of as the heart of the community. It provides a wide variety of supportive services to children, families, and seniors in need, such as after-school tutoring, a food pantry, and case management services. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to reach their full potential, as well as unify the local and greater community.

Emerald Transportation provides wheelchair and ambulatory transportation services for people in Portage and neighboring counties. We offer safe, reliable, quality service to ambulatory and non-emergency wheelchair-bound clients.

Family & Community Services, Inc. Foster Care, Adoption and Counseling Services is a private, non-profit adoption and foster care agency licensed in the States of Ohio and Michigan.

More than anything else in the world, children deserve a permanent, secure and nurturing family. We have helped more than 4,500 children find their way to loving adoptive families.
