  • Foster Grandparent Program

    Program Location: Clark, Geauga, Greene, Mahoning, Montgomery, Portage, Stark, Trumbull

    Our mission is to enhance the lives of children with exceptional needs through a caring relationship and to provide a high quality experience that enriches the lives of the volunteers and the children they serve.

  • Freedom House

    Program Location: Portage

    Freedom House is a 14-bed transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. We provide 24/7 support and structured and engaging therapies throughout the week, which include art therapy, music therapy, life skills, and stress management. Each veteran is provided with an individual room during their stay and lives at the Freedom House for an average of 6 to 12 months with an end goal of gaining permanent housing.

  • Honor Home

    Program Location: Stark

    Honor Home is a transitional housing program in Stark County that provides stability by meeting veterans where they are on their journey to permanent housing. Our transitional housing offers support, clothing and food. We provide comprehensive, supportive case management and access to both veteran’s programing and community resources.

  • Housing & Emergency Support Services (HESS)

    Program Location: Portage

    Housing and Emergency Support Services (HESS) believes that all families and individuals who are experiencing a crisis that threatens their well-being receive the services needed to stabilize and resolve the crisis.

    Family & Community Services (now Axess Family Services) started out in 1941 with just two programs. And HESS was one of them. Since 1941, HESS has been helping low-income households in need.

  • Kent Social Services

    Program Location: Portage

    Kent Social Services (KSS) commits to feeding the body and spirit of vulnerable people in the community through the provision of hot meals, groceries, and a caring attitude.

    KSS is dedicated to enhancing the nutrition of low-income residents of the Kent area by serving as the largest and most comprehensive hot meal and food pantry program in Kent.

  • Kentway Senior Independent Living

    Program Location: Portage

    Our mission is to provide access to affordable housing, programming, and services for independent seniors fifty-five and older.

  • King Kennedy Community Center

    Program Location: Portage

    King Kennedy Community Center (KKCC) exists to uplift the residents of McElrath Park and the surrounding area. KKCC provides a variety of experiences and opportunities designed to enrich the lives of our community members.

  • Miller Community House

    Program Location: Portage

    Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our residents by providing a 30-day shelter that includes advocacy, information, and referrals to area resources and collaborative agencies.

  • Mobile Meals

    Program Location: Cuyahoga, Portage, Summit

    Mobile Meals has been serving the community now for over fifty years. In 2016, Mobile Meals became a program of Axess Family Services (formerly Family & Community Services). Today, its staff and volunteers provide almost 200,000 meals each year to people in their homes and at dining centers throughout Summit, Portage, and Cuyahoga counties.

  • My Brother’s Keeper

    Program Location: Portage

    My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) is a national initiative established in 2014 by then-President Barack Obama to build brighter futures for all young people through local, community-based action. Our mission is to empower Portage County youth to reach their full potential by addressing opportunity gaps through education and mentorship.
