Education on Suicide Prevention

September 10, 2020
We would all like to believe that suicide isn’t a concern for our family. However, suicide is the leading cause of death among school-age youth. Parents especially need to stay informed as they are key in picking up on suicidal signs.
There is no single cause of suicide. Mental illness, loss, stress, and social isolation cause all be contributing factors but no one cause or event makes a person consider suicide.
By making suicide prevention a priority and educating yourself and others, you can help youth before they engage in irreversible behavior.
